Heard a Good Joke Lately?

So I know last week my post was all about April being National Poetry Month, but did you know that April is also National Humor Month?

Everyone loves to laugh, and I'm sure you've all heard the saying "Laughter is the best medicine".  I'm a big believer in laughing and not taking everything so seriously all the time, so use this month as an opportunity to read some funny books, tell a few good jokes, and spread the laughter around.  It's also a good time to find the humor in things and look on the bright side!

Need to learn a few good jokes?  Try checking out some of these books:
The Everything Guide to Comedy Writing     by Mike Bent     NFIC 808.7 BEN
The Oxford Dictionary of Humorous Quotations     by Ned Sherrin     NFIC 808.08 OXF
Great One Liners     by Gene Perret     NFIC 818.5402 PER
Knock Your Socks Off: A Book of Knock Knock Jokes by Michael Dahl  JNFIC 818.5402 DAH
(There are a lot of joke books upstairs in Youth Services too!)

Want to read something that makes you laugh out loud?  Try some of these:
Absolutely, Positively, NOT...     by David LaRochelle     YA FIC LAR
Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians     by Brandon Sanderson     YA FIC-FANTASY SAN
Beat the Band     by Don Calame     YA FIC CAL
