Abraham Lincoln Book Award

So every year, 22 titles are selected to be on the Abraham Lincoln Award Nominee list.  These 22 titles range from realistic fiction to fantasy to nonfiction, to young adult and adult crossover titles.  The books are chosen by a panel of Illinois high school teachers, high school students, and librarians.  For more information about the award click HERE to go to their website, or Google "Abe Award".

This year, our On The Same Page title choice (The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern) just happened to be an Abe Lincoln Nominee!  And what is On The Same Page, you ask?  It's when Roselle, Bloomingdale, and Itasca communities get together during the month of October to all read the same book.  Plus throughout the month of October there are programs, book discussions and more at all 3 libraries that are related to the title that was picked.  What better reason to expand your reading choices than with a pre-selected list of excellent Young Adult titles geared towards teens.

Check out our display in the Teen Area, featuring multiple copies of each title, including audiobooks where
available!  The list you will be looking for is the 2014 list, and you can find a book mark with all the titles tucked into every 2014 Abe Nominee!  But in case you are curious now...here's the list:
