And the Nominees Are...

So I know just a few weeks ago I was blogging about the 2015 Abraham Lincoln Award Winner (Yay Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell!), but that only means that the new list is out and I can gush about the awesomeness that is the 2016 nominee list!!

So you may be thinking that 2016 is a typo (because, hey! isn't it still 2015??), but really it's the nominee list for NEXT year!  Remember, I just announced the winner for 2015 a few weeks ago... :)

If you aren't familiar with the Abraham Lincoln Award, check out their website HERE.   Each year, they release a list of nominee titles (this year there are 20 titles on the list) that have been picked by a panel of teachers, librarians, and STUDENTS!

So without further is the most excellent line up this year:

*denotes non fiction titles!

We own, or are in the process of acquiring, at least 2 copies of ALL of these books.  If you don't see them in the catalog just yet, don't fear!  They are ordered and on their way!  We even have audio books on CD and Playaways where they are available!  They are all on a special display in the Teen Area, so you don't have to hunt for them!  Not sure where to look??  Just ask a Librarian!

Did I mention that I LOVED the list this year (again!) ???  It is filled with books I've read and loved, or books that were on my to read list!  Now I have a great excuse to read them all!  So get in today to get a head start on the 2016 Abraham Lincoln Award Nominees this year.  If you read at least four of them, then you will be eligible to vote for your favorite (LPHS always does the voting!) to be the big winner next February.

Enjoy and happy reading!
